제 24회 한국국제언어학회 학술대회’가 영국 셰필드대학교에서 영국 셰필드대학교에서 2026년 7월 1~3일에 개최됩니다. 이번 학술대회는 1975년에 창립한 ICKL의 50주년을 축하하는 뜻깊은 자리가 될 것입니다. ICKL 2026은 대면으로 진행됩니다.

이번 학술대회의 주제는 ‘한국어 언어학의 다양한 접근법’입니다. 언어학 연구의 핵심에는 변이와 다양성이 있습니다. 그리고 한국어 언어학은 새로운 경험연구와 간학제적인 협력 연구로 그 영역을 넓히고 있을 뿐만 아니라 다양한 연구자들의 전지구적 참여도 늘어나고 있습니다. 이러한 맥락에서 이번 학술대회는 교수, 연구원, 대학원생을 포함하여 세계 곳곳에서 활동하고 있는 언어 연구자들의 넓은 다양성을 한 곳에 모으고 교류하는 장이 되었으면 합니다.

다음 주제(알파벳순)를 포함한 다양한 영역에서의 한국어 및 한국어학 관련 연구 초록을 제출해 주시기 바랍니다.

The 24th Meeting of the International Circle of Korean Linguistics (ICKL 2026) will be held at the University of Sheffield in Sheffield, United Kingdom from 1 to 3 July, 2026. The conference will celebrate the 50th anniversary of ICKL’s founding in 1975. ICKL 2026 is being planned as a fully in-person event.

We are happy to confirm the following invited speakers at ICKL 2026:

- Hae-Sung Jeon, University of Lancashire

- Yoonhee Kang, Seoul National University

- George Tsoulas, University of York

The conference theme is Variation and diversity in Korean linguistics. Variation and diversity are at the heart of linguistics research. They also describe the field of Korean linguistics which is expanding into new empirical domains, new fields of interdisciplinary and collaborative study, and greater global participation from diverse researchers and scholars. The conference aims to bring a wide diversity of language researchers together from around the world, including established researchers and students in Master’s and PhD programs conducting their own research.

ICKL 2026 welcomes abstracts for individual paperson any aspect of Korean language and linguistics including (in alphabetical order):

- Bilingualism & multilingualism

- Computational Linguistics

- Corpus Linguistics

- First/Second Language Acquisition

- Historical-Comparative Linguistics

- Language Learning and Teaching

- Linguistic Anthropology

- Morphology

- Natural Language Processing

- Pragmatics & Discourse

- Psycholinguistics

- Sociolinguistics

- Syntax

Presenters will be encouraged to submit their work for consideration to Korean Linguistics (https://benjamins.com/catalog/kl), the journal of ICKL publishing high quality and state-of-the-art research in Korean linguistics.

The abstract submission portal can be accessed via:

Participants will need to sign up for a free account with Oxford Abstracts where they can directly input their abstract and other information. Abstract contents should include no more than 500 words and give no indication of the author's identity. Submissions must be in English. Abstracts will be reviewed by relevant experts.

Abstract submission deadline: November 30, 2025

Notification of acceptance: February 28, 2026

Registration deadline: April 30, 2026
